Areas of Expertise
Pain and Symptom Management
Hospices focus on managing pain and other distressing symptoms associated with the terminal illness. The goal is to improve the patient’s comfort and overall well-being.
Skilled Nursing Care
Hospice provides skilled nursing care by registered nurses (RNs) who monitor the patient’s condition, manage symptoms, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
Palliative Care
Hospice offers palliative care, which is specialized medical care focused on relieving pain and symptoms rather than curative treatment. The emphasis is on comfort rather than attempting to cure the underlying illness.
Emotional and Psychosocial Support
Hospices have social workers, counselors, and chaplains who offer emotional and psychosocial support to patients and their families. They provide counseling and support to help them cope with the emotional challenges of end-of-life care.
