Why Hospice Care?
Someone may need hospice care when they have a life-limiting illness or a terminal condition, and their prognosis indicates that they have a limited life expectancy, usually within six months or less. Hospice care primarily aims to offer individuals compassionate and supportive assistance as they navigate their end-of-life journey.
Prognosis
A hospice medical prognosis is a professional evaluation of a patient’s condition, factoring in their terminal illness and life expectancy. Guided by this evaluation, the hospice team tailors care to manage symptoms, enhance quality of life, and provide emotional and spiritual assistance. Hospice care is advised when a patient’s life expectancy is around six months.
